This is the final generation of the legacy drum scanners built at the old Hell factory in Kiel, Germany. These machines are most appreciated for their small footprint and outstanding scanning capabilities. Widely regarded as the best scanner to capture tonal subtleties in transparencies and negatives. The D8400 is identical to a D8200 in that it takes both drum size, with the addition of a 4 Drum automatic interchange turret. Together with NewColor, this gives the scanner operator unprecedented productivity, as jobs can be queued and and processed while the scanner is working on 4 separate drums.
All our machines are fully refurbished and restored to factory specifications. Prices include 2 150mm Drums + 2 212mm Drums, mounting station, delivery, installation within the 48 States or Western Europe and a 6 month parts warranty. Delivery outside of normally serviced areas is available, please inquire.
Please note – Heidelberg 8400 drums have a special RF ring in the base which allows the scanner to identify the drum while it’s on the turret but not loaded in the scanner. Normal drums will work but do not have full interchange capabilities on the turret
